Zhuoyao What was your first impression when you got the MAVO mark2 S35?

Pan Hang When I first got the MAVO mark2 S35, I was truly amazed. The overall finish—a matte metallic texture—is exactly the kind I personally love. The feel is almost skin-smooth to the touch (full marks from texture enthusiasts). The top vents on the body have been replaced with metal components, and the knobs that were slightly loose before now fit perfectly with virtually zero play—there's even a slight satisfying resistance when you turn them, making operation feel more confident overall. The completeness of the body design has taken another step forward!

Zhuoyao How did the shoot go overall, and what impressed you most about the MAVO mark2 S35? Can you share your creative concept?

Pan Hang One word sums it up: seamless. Existing users adapt extremely smoothly—it's that feeling of: 'At first touch it's very much like the old familiar one, but dig in and it's actually even better!'

Using a professional cinema camera like the MAVO mark2 S35, of course I wanted to give the audience something they don't normally see.To me, a tattoo artist creating on the human body is an incredibly cool profession. This time, the tattoo artist and his client happily became our subjects. Since the creation window was very short, we could only complete a single day-in-the-life record. Given the opportunity, I'd love to use Kinefinity cameras to create more interesting stories that audiences enjoy.

Zhuoyao How was the image quality? Did the final footage meet your expectations? Was the colorist's grading process smooth?

Pan Hang The colors are stunning! Rolling shutter is minimal! Native slow-motion is incredible! I'm absolutely in love!

The colorist was very impressed with the MAVO mark2 S35 footage. He said: "The footagehas natural, comfortable color transitions—grading is very easy.You can get beautiful images just by hand-crafting a LUT. Even the more extreme shooting conditions in the film retain color and brightness information very well, which means greater flexibility in post. The footage also shows subtle orange undertones and rich skin tone density—it can easily produce cinematic, naturally colored images. Its unique color science gives directors and DPs an option beyond ARRI and RED. Looking forward to the future addition of IDT and color pipeline support, making HDR and color-managed production even more accessible."
